The one-day training was organized by Biovision Africa Trust in Partnership with FiBL to equip Makueni county and sub county agricultural officials on how to access the content on organic agriculture through their mobile phones via Tusemezane short code (40799). The participants were trained on how to access the content on indigenous poultry, indigenous vegetables, and dairy goats through the Tusemezane short code.

The training was planned with the head of livestock production together with the head of crop production in the county. The training took place on 27^th May 2022 at the Agricultural Training Centre in Wotee, Makueni county and was attended by 12 (6 female, 6 male) county and sub county officials.

This activity falls within the FiBL supported digitization project. The training was planned to contribute to the project’s mandate. The training was aided in collaboration with Makueni county officials to train them on how they can access the content through the text messages on their mobile phones on the short code 40799 and cascade the same to their farmers.

The participants appreciated the digital way of conveying information to farmers and indicated that this was timely, and it will be of great help to the farmers. They further requested for extended partnerships with them to cover more value chains such as fruits, livestock production, horticulture which are the main value chains in the county.
